Özet

The aim of this study is to investigate the nutritional exercise behaviors of students studying in a high school. This research is a descriptive study. The research was conducted with students studying at Erzurum High School in Erzurum in the Spring Semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year. Due to the pandemic period, the scale was transferred to the online environment and the data were collected online in June. The number of samples was found to be 218 by using the G*Power 3.0.1 program for the sample. The sample was completed with 351 students who were accessible and completed the data collection tools completely. “Nutrition and Exercise Behavior Scale” (NEBS) developed by "Yurt" (2008) is a 5-point Likert-type scale with 4 sub-dimensions and 45 items. In this study, the alpha reliability of the scale applied in high school students is 0.76. The obtained data were evaluated in the SPSS 23 package program. The significance level was taken as <0.05. Results: 26.5% of the participants (93 people) were identified as male and 73.5% (258 people) were identified as female. The average height of the male participants was 1.70±0.13 meters, body weight was 63.67±17.21 kg and BMI was 21.61±4.22 kg/m2. The mean height of the girls was 1.60±0.07 meters, body weight was 52.60±8.92 kg and BMI was 20.25±2.79 kg/m2. A statistically significant difference was found at the p<0.05 level in meal order according to genders. A statistically significant difference was found at the p<0.05 level in meal order according to age variable. In addition, a significant negative correlation was found between age and meal order at p<0.05 level. As a result; As the age progresses, the meal order deteriorates and the body fat ratio is thought to increase. It can be said that psychologically dependent eating behavior increases as body weight increases.
