Özet

In this study, an electromagnetic resonant cavity problem is analyzed by using the step-by-step perturbation method where nodal finite element method is used for obtaining the initial solutions. For the tasks such as optimization, fine tuning and parametric history extraction, step-by-step perturbation method has a very low computational cost compared to FEM. The performance of the perturbation process is analyzed with different parameters when spurious modes arisen from nodal FEM are in effect. The performance of the step-by-step perturbation under nodal FEM formulation provides a reference as a worst-case scenario. The modes, which are considered to be spurious according to simple error metrics, are identified and the perturbation process is performed both with and without these modes. It is shown that eliminating such modes improve the accuracy.
