YUNANİSTAN’DA OSMANLI TARİHİ LİTERATÜRÜ ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME

Çağdaş Yunanistan tarihinin hemen tamamı Türkiye tarihiyle iç içe olduğundan burada  üretilen  tarih  literatürünün  hatırı  sayılır  bir  kısmı Osmanlı dönemini de kapsar. Dolayısıyla Antik dönem ve kısmen Doğru Roma devri ile yakın tarih hariç tutulacak olursa Yunanistan’da üretilen tarih  araştırmaları  ister  istemez  şu veya bu  şekilde  Osmanlı  tarihi  ile ilişkilidir. Bunların bilhassa yerel tarihe ilişkin olanları coğrafya, yer adları, Osmanlı mimari ve kültürel mirası gibi konularda son derece kapsamlı ve zengin  detaylar  içerir.  Bibliyometrik  analizlerin  yanı  sıra  nitel değerlendirmelere de yer veren bu çalışma, Yunanistan kaynaklı literatürün Osmanlı  tarihçiliği  açısından  taşıdığı  öneme   dikkat  çekmeyi amaçlamaktadır.

OTTOMAN STUDIES IN GREECE: SOME REMARKS ON THE LITERATURE

 As most of the history of modern Greece is closely related with that of Turkey, considerable part of history literature produced here refers to the Ottoman period. As a matter of fact, except for the ancient period, most of the Eastern Roman period and recent history, historical research conducted in Greece directly or indirectly involves the Ottoman history. Among these, especially those focusing on local history give very extensive and rich details on geography, toponyms, Ottoman architectural heritage etc.  Apart from bibliometric analyses, this study attempts a quantitative assessment of this vast literature, focusing mostly on the locally - produced Greek-language publications. In so doing, the study aims to draw attention to the  importance  of this  extremely  detailed and mostly overshadowed literature for the wider field of Ottoman studies.
