Özet

Vitiligo is a common pigmentation disorder of the skin characterized by white macules resulting from loss of melanocytes. The current treatment of vitiligo is not satisfactory because response is very slow and many patients have progressive disorder. The mainstay of treatment remains topical corticosteroids, topical calcineurin inhibitors and UVB therapy. A lot of topical and systemic treatments have been investigated during the last decades. Some can restore pigment but none can cure it or prevent its spread or recurrence. In this chapter, we aimed to assess the current methods and new therapeutic interventions used in the management of vitiligo.
