Özet

Ancient hydraulic works, dating back to all periods of her four thousand years long history, make Turkey one of the foremost open-air museums of hydraulic technology. They date from the Hittite, Urartu, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljukide and Ottoman periods. Some of them are with very few reparations or modification still in operation after several centuries, even millennia.
