Abstract
This paper introduces a domain-specific modelling language (DSML) called DSML4FJaCaMo for the development of fuzzy belief–desire–intention agents. The language follows a meta-modelling approach and extends the core elements of Jason and Cartago to represent agent and artefact perspectives. By incorporating fuzzy logic into the BDI paradigm, DSML4FJaCaMo enables the modelling of graded beliefs, uncertain perceptions, and adaptive decision-making processes. The proposed DSML provides a graphical modelling environment that supports the representation of fuzzy-BDI agents’ beliefs, desires, and intentions using Jason, while considering Cartago artefacts. Its operational semantics supports integration between these components, allowing for automatic code generation and artefact construction to create executable JaCaMo-based fuzzy systems. Overall, DSML4FJaCaMo enhances the JaCaMo ecosystem by providing a model-driven and hybrid reasoning framework that increases both the level of abstraction and the level of intelligence.
