Abstract

Unions can organize themselves in three ways, namely profession, workplace and branch of activity. In Turkish legal system, organization according to basis of branch of activity is adopted. One of the main objectives of the adoption of this system is to ensure the establishment of strong trade unions. In this study, branch of activity concept, criteria should be taken into consideration in determining the branch of activity, abolished the 2821 Trade Unions Act and the 6356 Law on Trade Union and Collective Agreement within the framework of the regulations in the law were examined taking into consideration jurisprudence and reviews of the doctrine.
