Abstract

This paper aims to explore primary school principals' and teachers' perceptions of school culture and values systems. The results of the research are summarized below: Principals' perceptions vary merely in "School-Environment Relationship" dimension of the "School Culture Inventory". Teachers' perceptions of "school culture" do not vary in terms of union membership. Principals' membership to any union varies merely in "Power" and "Tradition" dimensions of value dimensions. Teachers' perceptions of "Self-direction", "Tradition", "Conformity" and "Security" vary in terms of union membership.
