Özet

The roughness values of fabrics were evaluated using a surface roughness tester not previously used for textiles. Wool and wool/polyester blends were tested in this study. Subjective roughness tests were made by an expert jury and total hand values of the fabrics were also determined. Spearman correlation analyses were performed to examine the relationship between subjective and objective roughness test results and to select the roughness parameters most associated with subjective tests. Three roughness parameters were selected and variance analysis was carried out to examine the effects of the factors on the results of these parameters. Repeatable tests were performed and different weaves were detected by this method. The goal was to develop a practical surf ace roughness method and to use it for objective hand evaluation.
