29th WONCA EUROPE CONFERENCE, Dublin, İrlanda, 25 - 28 Eylül 2024, ss.1008, (Özet Bildiri)
Introduction
E-health technologies leverage internet-based applications
to enhance healthcare delivery and patient self-management, especially for
underserved populations. While these technologies offer significant benefits
such as increased accessibility, cost reduction, and improved management of
treatment and communication, they also raise concerns among users. Patients
often worry about data security and privacy, whereas healthcare professionals
are concerned about potential increases in workload and deterioration in
patient-physician relationships.
Objective
This scoping review aims to map out existing literature on
the perspectives of healthcare professionals and patients regarding e-health
applications, identifying areas of consensus and concern, and pinpointing gaps
in current research that could inform future technological enhancements.
Methods
A comprehensive literature review was conducted, focusing on
studies that explore the adoption, impact, and perceptions of e-health applications
among healthcare providers and patients. Data sources comprised peer-reviewed
journals, healthcare databases, and conference proceedings from the past
decade.
Results and Discussion
The review reveals a generally positive reception towards
e-health applications for their efficiency and convenience in healthcare
delivery. However, significant apprehensions about privacy, security, increased
workload, and the quality of patient-physician interactions were also evident.
These issues highlight the need for ongoing adjustments in e-health strategies
to balance technological advances with user satisfaction and professional
feasibility.
Conclusion
Addressing the concerns identified can enhance the
acceptance and effectiveness of e-health applications. Future research should
focus on developing strategies that safeguard privacy and optimize professional
workflows, thereby maximizing the potential benefits of e-health and
telemedicine for all stakeholders.
