Abstract

In this study, a mixed integer programming model is proposed for the cost-based assembly line balancing and worker-cobot assignment problem under ergonomic constraints. Energy expenditure problems are also addressed from ergonomics perspective. To evaluate the effectiveness of the cobots in assembly lines, a total of four different scenarios; i.e. cost based assembly line only with the manual workforce, the cost-based assembly line balancing and worker-cobot assignment problem that ignores ergonomic constraint, the costbased assembly line balancing and worker-cobot assignment problem that ignores ergonomic constraints investigating the effect of change in parameters on objective function, the cost-based assembly line balancing and worker-cobot assignment problem under ergonomic constraints where change in energy expenditures is addressed. The solution of sample problem is shown in Figure A.
