Abstract

Autonomic dysreflexia is an acute and dangerous syndrome that may occur in spinal cord injury patients. It is generally observed in patients with spinal cord lesions at or above the sixth thoracic neurologic level and in the chronic stage. In this case study, we report a 43-year-old female patient who had two attacks of autonomic dysreflexia due to incomplete lumbar spinal cord injury. Both of the attacks were observed in the first six weeks after the injury. The patient was successfully treated by removal of the triggering factor in each attack.
