In this study, the digital communication system under skewed alpha-stable noise is investigated and robust estimators are used to improve the performance. It is observed that the performance of the robust estimators becomes better when the impulsive noise is symmetric and therefore it is proposed to add intentional noise at the receiver having opposite skewness to increase the receiver performance at the receiver. The bit error rate is observed to achieve optimum value corresponding to skewness and intensity values providing stochastic resonance.
