Is there a possibility that art can become a “shadow area” where people can take shelter? How can the shadow, which emerges from a sign depicting the negativities in life, be transformed into a positive space? In the “Shadow Area” series, which I tried to create around these questions these are the starting points of my creative effort, I chose an abstract approach and tried to create compositions not only for its aesthetic effect but also for its potential to activate cognitive processes and awaken spiritual healing. In this understanding, where randomness comes together with conscious guidance to create areas, I depict shadow areas that do not actually exist with the mind's eye while searching for the truth of information such as light-dark, vertical-horizontal, void-fullness. I combine colors these I choose sometimes based on emotional intensity and sometimes based on my interest in chromatic relationships, with shapes and signs that enable the emergence of memories and experiences on a textured background. Rather than a rigid form, I try to create this composition by flowing, dripping and splattering paints with the desire to embrace the instinctive and raw nature of creativity by allowing memories and emotional experiences to interact freely and without restriction as they do in our consciousness. Thus, I aim to create dynamic compositions that capture the energy of the artistic process. With these abstract compositions, where I emphasize personal expression and introspection, I invite the viewer to a personal interaction in the depths of the unconscious with an emotional and intuitive approach.
