Özet

Based on finite element methodology, the Microplane concrete model based on the research by Bazant and Gambarova and the Menetrey Willams model are applied to predict the response of Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) beams that are reinforced with tensile longitudinal reinforcements under the effects of flexural and shear dominant loading. These numerical models, which are available in ANSYS, account for UHPC's superior mechanical properties, such as high compressive and tensile strength, strain hardening effect in tension, and softening characteristics of reinforced UHPC beams in compression and tension. In this research, 4 reinforced UHPC beams with dimensions of 180mm wide by 270mm deep by 4000mm long were investigated using the concrete models mentioned above with the Ansys software. The experimental data for this research work was acquired from a previous research article. The comparisons show that the concrete models that are built in the ANSYS software are capable of capturing the response of UHPC beams in the entire range of loading, from the preloading stage to failure through the crushing of concrete or crack localization modes.
