Objective: The purpose of this descriptive cross-sectional study was to conduct psychometric validations for a Turkish version of the Decisional Balance Scale (TDBS). Methods: The TDBS was administered to 642 children ages 9-14 in Grades 4-8, using random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Kendall W, paired sample t-test, confirmatory factor analyses and percentiles. Results: Researchers determined that the cons subscale correlation coefficients were between 0.43-0.71, and the pros subscale were 0.54-0.74. Subscale factor load for the pros was 0.40-0.78 and for the cons was 0.41-0.75, respectively. The subscales' reliability coefficient for the pros subscale was alpha=0.74 and for the cons subscale alpha=0.78. Conclusion: The TDBS is thus congruent for use in Turkey.
