The frequency of cognitive impairment increases with advancing age. It is essential to evaluate the factors that may cause cognitive impairment and to determine the affected cognitive areas in order to plan the treatment of cognitive impairment. Comprehensive geriatric assessment is one of the most important tools in this evaluation. Within the scope of comprehensive geriatric assessment, the evaluation of the activities of daily living is important in the decision of conventional treatment. At every stage of cognitive impairment, factors known to increase the risk of dementia should be modified. In addition, nutritional support therapies and vitamin supplements may be effective in the treatment of cognitive impairment. Apart from conventional approaches, antibody and stem cell-based agents have promising results, especially in terms of changing the course of Alzheimer's disease. In the treatment of cognitive impairment, relatives of the patient should be included in the treatment process and treatment should be individualized.
