Özet

The Upper Cretaceous sequence of the Korkuteli area (Western Taurides) comprises two formations. The Bey Daglari Formation lies at the base and can be divided into two parts. A 600-m-thick neritic lower part is capped with thin, massive, hemipelagic limestones. The Akdag Formation disconformably overlies different stratigraphic levels of the Bey Daglari Formation along a prominent erosional surface and consists of thin-bedded, cherty, pelagic, clayey limestones. Paleogene marts form the base of the Tertiary sequence and disconformably overlie different stratigraphic levels of the Upper Cretaceous succession. This study identifies from thin sections and analyzes the Late Cretaceous planktonic foraminifera.
