Proje Özeti
Our objective is to define the role of glycosylation in the development
and maintenance of the human neuromuscular (NM) system by elucidating the
pathophysiological mechanisms underlying two rare NM glycosylation disorders. We
will leverage complementary expertise across Canada (CHEO), Israel (HMC), and
Turkey (DEU) to develop shared cellular, molecular, and animal‑model platforms,
harmonize protocols and analytic approaches, and jointly interpret cross‑site
findings. The consortium will build capacity through trainee exchanges,
hands-on training in iPSC‑derived NM systems, and co‑developed standardized
assays, supported by ongoing knowledge exchange through annual in‑person and
monthly virtual meetings to strengthen an international research community
focused on glycosylation‑linked NM biology.
