Proje Özeti
OASIS will deliver Earth Intelligence in the water thematic domain to address global challenges, support European Union (EU) policies.
We tackle main aspects of water resilience and water cycle management and create innovative policy-mixes with biodiversity and
climate change. OASIS is targeted both for EU directives as well as United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, 6,14)
information needs. We will support the implementation of key policies with 16 partners representing vast and long-term expertise on
Earth Observation services, Artificial Intelligence (AI), modelling, with 15 case areas from Europe, Africa and South America. Our
business partners develop solid business plans for commercial exploitation. We build on predecessor services and projects and commit
to collaborate with ongoing actions. Among EU policies, the main regulation for water protection is the EU Water Framework Directive,
closely linked with recent and timely Nature Restoration Regulation under the overarching EU Biodiversity strategy. The novelty of
our integrated systems is to use AI to combine EO, models and in situ to enable interactions and information mining. These assist
policymakers dealing with complex and interlinked topics, by creating policy mixes on water resilience, ecosystems and biodiversity
and, further, supports transition towards Green Deal. Our work plan is based on co-design, collaboration and clustering with extensive
stakeholder segments at global, EU, national, regional and local levels including already 40 committed stakeholder organizations: at
global level GEOAquaWatch and World Water Quality Alliance, UNEP and EuroGEO. At EU-level, KCEO and EEA committed to
projects under this call, further we have committed to OASIS JRC-led working groups (WG) for water resilience relevant directives,
such as WG ECOSTAT. National representatives of the WGs participate as project partners, including two national representatives to
the Copernicus User Forum.
