Abstract
All stages of data collection and information retrieval reflect significant shortcomings such that a special effort must be put in managing our data systems to obtain the required information The presented paper summarizes these shortcomings first in a general framework and then an specific steps of data management, i.e., design of data collection programs, physical sampling laboratory analyses, data processing and transfer of data into information.
